Mobile advertising in New Zealand on the rise

The mobile advertising spend in New Zealand is reported at about $632,000 according to Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PwC. The said figure was largely attributed by the increasing number of Smartphone penetration that now accounts 30% of the entire handset usage in the region.
Accordingly, the mobile platform is said to open more positive opportunities in connecting with “on the go” consumers. PwC said New Zealand will follow the international trend of mobile online advertising spend as the population of Smartphone and tablet users continue to grow.

Mobile browsing in the Philippines goes up

Mobile marketing is expected to penetrate in the Philippines with Filipinos now getting matured and responsive to mobile browsing. The latest data from Yahoo Index Net 2011 revealed 57% of women and 43% of men getting accustomed into mobile browsing. The report suggested a better indication to brands and advertisers in the region to embrace seriously into mobile advertising tactic. Telecom industry and technology providers, on other hand, are seen to become active players in the Philippine advertising scene.

A MASSIVE 8.8-magnitude earthquake has shaken Japan, unleashing a powerful tsunami that sent ships crashing into the shore and carried cars through the streets of coastal towns.
Multiple injuries, but no immediate deaths, were reported from the Pacific coastal area of Miyagi on the main Honshu island, police said according to media, and TV footage showed widespread flooding in the area.
